5 Minute Papaya Smoothie Recipe

It’s official: I’m hooked on papayas.

Currently, this smoothie is my go-to on the days that I’m late for class or on days that I feel that I should stick to my plan to follow a healthier diet. I like that the recipe is versatile as I can use various combinations and it still tastes good. Another thing that I like about this recipe is that it’s simple to try out and add or remove ingredients based on personal preferences.


  • 1/4 ripe papaya
  • One tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup mineral water (or milk)
  • 1 tablespoon honey


  • Cut the papaya in half and remove the seeds. Then, cut the papaya into another half before peeling it, roughly chop the peeled papaya and add it to  the blender.   

  • Add a tablespoon of chia seeds, mineral water and a tablespoon of honey. Blend until very smooth. Add ice and blend until smooth, or serve chilled.


For a smooth and creamier texture, chill the fruits in the freezer overnight and blend without ice.
